New CTQP Trainee ID

New Trainee ID (TIN) Required for CTQP Exams Effective September 1, 2025

Effective September 1, 2025, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing a new process for all Construction Training and Qualification Program (CTQP) exam applications. To improve the accuracy of our records and prevent the creation of duplicate accounts, all technicians will be required to use a permanent CTQP Trainee ID (TIN) to register for exams.

This new process replaces the previous reliance on identifiers like Driver's License numbers, which can change over time. Please see below for instructions based on your role.

Technicians must obtain their new Trainee ID no later than 14 days before taking a CTQP exam.

FOR TECHNICIANS WITH AN EXISTING CTQP PROFILE

This applies to you if you have current CTQP certifications or have been certified in the past.

  1. Find Your Trainee ID: You already have a Trainee ID assigned to you in the CTQP database.
  2. How to Retrieve It: Visit the CTQP Website and use the Verify a Certificate tool to look up your profile and find your unique Trainee ID.
  3. What to Do: Starting September 1, 2025, you must provide this Trainee ID to your Training Provider when you register for any CTQP exam.

Here is a video showing the process of obtaining your Trainee ID from an existing Technician Profile

FOR NEW TECHNICIANS

This applies to you if you will be taking your FIRST CTQP exam on or after September 1, 2025.

  1. Register for a Trainee ID: You must register in the system before you can take a CTQP exam.
  2. How to Register: Visit the CTQP Website and use the Create Trainee Profile section to register and receive your unique Trainee ID.
  3. What to Do: Provide your new Trainee ID to the Training Provider when you register for your exam.

Here is a video showing how to register for the first time as a CTQP Technician

FOR CTQP TRAINING PROVIDERS

Effective September 1, 2025, Training Providers are required to:

  1. Request the Trainee ID: Ask every technician for their unique CTQP Trainee ID during exam registration.
  2. Verify the Technician: Use the Trainee ID to look up the technician in the CTQP database.
  3. Confirm Identity: Ensure the name associated with the Trainee ID in the database matches the name on the technician’s government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver's License).

Here is a video showing the process of how to check the technician's first and last name matches the information displayed on the CTQP website
